“Beat the market” is a term used in investing to describe achieving a returns that beat the performance of a particular index.
Lots of people try to do it by picking and investing in particular stocks in preference to investing in the market as a whole. Very few actually manage to beat the market performance over the long term.
That said, I thought it would be fun to try!
